ATHENA Akron, Inc., a nonprofit organization, was established January 5, 2015 as an independent 501(c)(3) to provide leadership programming for women leaders in the Akron regional area.

Bi-Monthly Virtual Meeting
ATHENA Akron’s Q&A With a Notable Leader is a bi-monthly virtual program where woman community leaders share their leadership stories and answer questions from our moderators. Attendees have the opportunity to connect with each other as well as engage in meaningful discussions with the notable leader on leadership topics.

Quarterly Virtual Meeting
ATHENA Akron’s Q&A with an Emerging Woman Leader event, offered quarterly, is designed to pair an emerging woman leader, facilitate and nurture mentoring relationships with established woman leaders in the community, and honor the emerging woman leader at a virtual Q&A event.

ATHENA Akron’s Monthly Leadership Lunch Forums, which began in 2015, provide members and guests with a forum where they connect with other established and emerging women leaders over lunch, while also gaining awareness on different topics of interest that are relevant to their lives and careers.

Annual ATHENA Akron Events
ATHENA Women’s Leadership Day Lunch
The ATHENA Women’s Leadership Day program connects established women leaders and emerging women leaders. Established women leaders invite an emerging woman leader to lunch, as their guest. This provides a venue to support emerging women leaders.
ATHENA Leadership Awards Program
The prestigious ATHENA International Leadership Awards recognize exemplary leaders for their professional achievement, community involvement, and for actively assisting women in reaching their full leadership potential.
Annual Meeting & Holiday Celebration
At the annual business meeting and holiday celebration, members elect the slate of officers for the coming year and celebrate our year’s accomplishments. This holiday event is an opportunity to meet and connect with ATHENA Akron members.
Established Women Leaders New to Their Positions
ATHENA Akron’s after-hours welcome reception honors established women leaders in our community who are new to their positions, and provides members and guests an opportunity to meet and connect with women leaders, elected officials, and local presidents and CEOs.
ATHENAPOWERLINK® PROGRAM
The ATHENAPowerLink® program links women business owners with a local volunteer board of advisors for a 12-month period, during which time women focus on the specific objectives of their business. Their volunteer advisors provide expertise, access to new networks, best practices and strategic planning for growth.
